Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the golds - dental, yellow gold etc?

Dental Gold has no actual gold within the alloy, 9 Karat has 37.5% gold with in the alloy, 14 Karat has 58.3% gold with in the alloy and 18 Karat has 75% gold with in the alloy.

What is dental gold?

Dental gold is a non-precious dental alloy used by the dentist when you get a crown or filling. It's made to go into the mouth without any harmful effects. Dental gold can be yellow or white gold colour. It's a cheaper alternative compared to precious gold as it has no actual gold within the alloy.

Do you do silver grills?

No we do not, we offer a dental white gold alternative.

Why do you not offer silver grills?

Sorry but we do not use silver as it is very toxic in the mouth by itself. It can be broken down by saliva thus leaking harmful chemicals into the body. We use solid white dental gold instead that looks like silver and is safe to be used in the mouth.

Do you do custom design grills?

Yes, if the design is feasible and safe we will fulfil your requirements. A consultation would be in order - upon agreement on a design, a price would be set.

Do you offer precious golds?

Yes, we offer 9 Karat, 14 Karat and 18 Karat gold.

How long is the process?

From receiving your impression or meeting in person your grill takes 10-15 working days to complete.

How do grills fit?

You treat it like jewellery, they click in and out however this is always down to the anatomy of your tooth, sometimes it is not possible to click in so a dental adhesive is used to hold them in place.

Why do you not guarantee the fit from your impression kit?

We cannot guarantee the fit if you do not meet us in person. Our Impression kits are simple, easy to use and achieve great results however the fit cannot be adjusted if we physically cannot be there with you.

What is dental Adhesive?

Dental adhesive is a non evasive material that acts as a glue to hold your grill in place. It can be easily taken off by brushing your teeth once the grill is removed.

Can I eat with grills?

No you cannot. Having a grill on top of your tooth opens your bite making it the point of contact. It stops you from biting together hence why we deem it as jewellery only.

Can I smoke with grills?

You can however it is not advised as you want to keep the oral environment as clean as possible.

Do you offer polishing services on grills?

Yes we do. Over time grills become slightly tainted or dirty. We offer a polishing service to bring your old grills back to life for £20. Contact us for more details.
